Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
These three athletes have been honoured for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The champion will be revealed live on the annual sports awards show on December 18th.
The show will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.
These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and surged to prominence with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
