Curtis Jones has shared that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad after the fallout from his recent interview.

He was omitted from a vital match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had soured.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”

The head coach has chosen not to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.

Moving Forward

Jones insisted that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.

He also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “I get that there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

On-Field Response

Liverpool's form have remained strong in the matches since the situation. Jones believes the Salah's words were not intended to destabilise the squad.

“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, getting results and on a positive run.”
