Brian Eno Encourages Support to Send Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The project hopes to send support to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Possibility for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it fails to, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.

“It occupies a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced in the wake of a major charity concert held in late summer. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the rendition was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The notable list of musicians featured on Lullaby encompasses a selection of prominent voices from the scene. All took part in the September show, which reportedly raised a considerable total for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of talented individuals. The single features a combination of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the project have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These proceeds will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a figure commented. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The situation in the area was noted for its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of infrastructure reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a couple of million doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is above all making this cause better known and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a digital service from the 19th of December.
